How to Add and Remove Days from an Existing Menu

With NYC 5.97 and higher, you have several ways to change a menu’s date range (i.e., period of days) and day order, each with different ramifications:

1)      Change menu start date

Change start date during menu editing using calendar buttons on the menu edit window (Menu… Plan…).  If you change the start date on an existing menu, the same menu plan (series of menu days) will begin on the new start date.

2)      Change menu end date

Change end date during menu editing using calendar buttons on the menu edit window (Menu… Plan…).  Increase the end date to add blank days at the end of your menu.  If you decrease the end date, your menu will be truncated (i.e., you will lose menu days at the end of the menu).

3)      Insert menu days using the main menu

To add menu days to your meal plan, select Edit... Insert Menu Day from the main menu when a meal plan is open.  This will insert a new menu day just prior to the menu day you are viewing.

4)      Delete menu days using the main menu

To remove a menu day, make sure you are viewing the day you want to remove, then select Edit... Delete Menu Day.

5)      Swap two menu days using the main menu

To swap two menu days, make sure you are viewing one of the days, then select Edit… Swap Menu Days to select the menu day to swap with it.

You can practice these techniques on an existing menu to see how they work – just don’t save the menu when prompted if you don’t want to keep the changes.
