Hints for successful download and installation:
When you click on a link above, your browser will download the setup file into your Downloads folder.
If you get a browser note that the file is ‘not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous’, select ‘Keep’ not ‘Discard’.
Run the setup file to install NYC.
If Windows 10 Smartscreen prevents the ‘unrecognized file’ from running, select ‘More info’ then press the ‘Run Anyway’ button.
During installation, we will show as an ‘unknown publisher’ because the setup executable is not digitally signed,
but files you download from the links above have been checked by us and are free of viruses and malware.
If you get an error that says “Setup was unable to create the directory c:\Users\Public\Documents\FFTS\Nyc597”,
please temporarily disable your anti-virus software and try to install.
If you encounter other problems, please e-mail techsprt@loginetics.com.
Important note about download

Getting NYC User Files and Registration Info from your Previous NYC Installation:
Step 1:
Download the latest version (NYC 5.97) from one of the above links, save it to your new computer, turn off all other programs, make sure you are logged in as administrator, and install it on your new computer (i.e., run the downloaded setup file). We recommend you select all the defaults during installation. After installation, run NYC once or twice to make sure it's working OK before continuing.
Step 2:
Run NYC 5.97 on the new computer and use File… Upgrade… to
bring over/upgrade user files (including reg info and cookbooks) from your
previous folder. To do this, use the Browse... button on the
Upgrade window and dbl-click in the folder dialog to find and select your
previous version’s install folder (“c:\Program Files (x86)\FFTS\Nyc5xx” on a
Windows 10/8/7 computer, where Nyc5xx would be Nyc589 for NYC version
5.89). For older versions of NYC and operating systems, see this FAQ to find the
location of your user folder, from which you can also upgrade using File… Upgrade…
. Before you press Proceed on the Upgrade window, make sure the folder
you selected appears in the blue text box. After the Upgrade, close the
Upgrade window(s), and use File… Open Cookbook… to see all cookbooks in your
folder. Note that incoming cookbooks may be slightly renamed to avoid
name conflicts (e.g., EXAMPLE may be changed to EXAMPLE1, etc). After a
couple weeks, when you are sure you have everything, you can uninstall your
previous version and remove its folder (“c:\Users\Public\Documents\FFTS\Nyc5xx”).
This process will also bring over your registration info. If you need it,
you can always email us for your reg
info.
Getting NYC User Files and Registration Info from your Old Computer to Your New Computer:
Step 2:
If possible, run NYC on your OLD computer and use Tools... Options... User Folder tab… to identify your NYC User Folder location on the OLD computer. Put a flash drive (i.e., thumb drive, USB drive) into your old computer. Copy the \Nyc5xx folder that contains your NYC User Folder from your old computer or backup to the flash drive (where 5xx refers the NYC version, so the folder would be \Nyc577 for NYC 5.77).
EXAMPLE: Let’s assume your User Folder on your OLD computer is in the default location and you have Windows 7 or higher on your old computer. Assume also that you were running NYC 5.96 on the old computer. You would browse to the old computer’s folder “C:\Users\Public\Documents\FFTS\”, then find the Nyc596 folder under it, and copy the Nyc596 folder to your flash drive. Your old user files are in the \user subfolder under this Nyc596 folder.
If you cannot run NYC on your old PC, but have access to its hard drive, then see this FAQ to locate your old NYC folder.
If the old and new computers are networked, you can map the old PC’s drive on your new computer and skip using a flash drive for Step 2.
Step 3:
Now put the flash drive into your new computer. Run
NYC 5.97 on the new computer and use File… Upgrade… to bring over/upgrade user
files (including reg info and cookbooks) from your previous folder (now on your
flash drive or other drive). To do this, use the Browse... button on the
Upgrade window and dbl-click in the folder dialog to find and select your
previous \Nyc5xx folder on the flash drive. In the EXAMPLE above, this
means you would dbl-click the Nyc596 folder on your flash drive to select
it.
After a
couple weeks, when you are sure you have everything, you can remove your
previous version's folder.
This process will also bring over your registration info. If you need it,
you can always email us for your reg
info.
