Backing Up User Spell Check Dictionaries

UPDATE:

The user-defined spell check dictionaries “userdic.tlx” and “correct.tlx” are now stored in the NYC user folder, so NYC’s File… Backup… will back them up, and File… Restore… will restore them there.

OBSOLETE:

The File… Backup… operation will not backup user spell check dictionaries because all spell check dictionaries are stored in the \Windows\System (or \Windows\System32) folder where they are accessible to other programs that also use the Wintertree spell checker that NYC uses.  To ensure that these dictionaries are backed up use File Explorer to copy the “userdic.tlx” and “correct.tlx” files from your system folder to your NYC user folder just before you use File… Backup…

To restore backed up user dictionary files, do the normal File… Restore… and restore the “userdic.tlx” and “correct.tlx” files.  Then use File Explorer to copy these files from your NYC user folder back to your system folder.
