How to Merge Two Categories
With NYC you can easily merge two categories using the Map button on the edit categories window.
Suppose you have a category called “Fish” and another called “Seafood”, and you would like to merge them into one category called “Fish”. To merge these two categories:
- Select Recipes... Cookbook Categories... (or press the small chef hat toolbar button).
- In the category list, select “Seafood”.
- Press the Map To... button.
- Select “Fish” as the map-to category and press the Map... button.
- Save your changes.
This assigns all recipes in the “Seafood” category to the “Fish” category.
NYC leaves the “Seafood” category intact and unchanged, but you can now delete it if you wish.
