Special Letters/Accents in Recipes

To add special letters and language accents to words while entering recipes (e.g., sauté):

 

  1. Select Start... Programs... Accessories... then Character Map... to open the special characters window.
  2. If you are using Windows Me, you may need to use Start… Programs… Accessories… System Tools… Character Map…
  3. In the Fonts dropdown list, select “MS Sans Serif”.
  4. In the Character Map window, select (click) a special character, then press Select, then Copy. 
  5. Position the cursor in an NYC text box, then use Cntl-V or select Edit… Copy to paste the special character into your entry.
